The Only Known Photo of Einstein and His Formula

This is the only known photo in existence of Albert Einstein writing his famous formula E=mc2 on a blackboard.

3,000 people lined up outside on December 28, 1934, but only 450 of them could get into Little Theatre. The theater today is called Kresge Theatre at  Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

This is one of Albert's very first public lectures given in the United States for the American Mathematical Society.

Nearby is the Carnegie-Mellon Music Hall where actress Jennifer Beals was auditioning for the film Flashdance.
